Starting a blog

I've never truly had a desire to start a blog, but have recently been making some local eating and shopping recommendations on my Facebook page and one of my friends suggested I turn it into a blog. My thought? "Why not?"

My name is Kirty and I live in western Washington...Washington state, not the other Washington. I have traveled all over the world and through several states in our union. My husband and I love to eat and shop local wherever we travel. You might find my recommendations great and you might not, but I feel I have something to add to your day and your travel experience so I'm going to blog about it. This blog won't just be about Washington state, but rather I will make recommendations from all over the map.

Have you ever noticed when you travel to any country outside of the United States that there are no "chain" restaurants? This is how we like to travel...eat local! These days, more than ever, it's important to support local businesses. What if you and I were to shop and eat local for the next 365 days?
